I'm a firm believer in fighting poverty by giving people the tools and means to help themselves. Here are some of my favorite charities whom I donate to:
Grameenfoundation.org - A microfinance organization who provides small loans to women so they can support their families.
Heifer.org - Helps end hunger by providing animals to families to allow them to become self-supporting. Love this site because you can order specify what you want to donate. I love choosing water buffalos, chickens, rabbits, bees..etc.
Foodfinders.org - Food bank in Long Beach that feeds people in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. These people work very hard with little reward.
Foothillunitycenter.org - Community organization in the Pasadena area that provides food and other support to people in need. A busy organization, they truly give back to the community.
Mamaskitchen.org - Located in San Diego, this organization provides healthy meals to people suffering from cancer and HIV/AIDS.
Sandiegofoodbank.org - Food bank in San Diego.
Healthebay.org - Helps keep our beaches clean.
Irteams.org - International Relief Teams. They do awesome work.
Amandafoundation.org - Rescues pets in danger of being destroyed. Wonderful place with great energy.
Friendsoflongbeachanimals.org - Low cost spay and neutering for pets.
Lbk9oa.org - Long Bach police K9 association website. This organization purchases police dogs for the city of Long Beach.
